Security tests we run for Hyderabad teams
Five tests make up the core of what we offer. Each has its own page with the full coverage; what follows is how each one tends to look for a team based in the city.
Web application penetration testing
For a Hyderabad product company, the web application is what customers sign in to every day, and it is usually the first thing an enterprise buyer's security team asks about. We test it signed out and signed in under every role you give us. The OWASP Top 10 and ASVS set the baseline, and most of the effort goes into what scanners cannot judge: one tenant reaching another tenant's records, a staff login reaching admin screens, or an approval step that can be skipped. To start, we need the application URLs, test credentials for each role and a short scope memo.
Mobile application penetration testing
Consumer apps from fintech, healthcare and e-commerce firms carry tokens, personal data and payment flows on phones the company does not control. We take the signed APK or IPA you ship, run it on physical Android and iOS devices with runtime instrumentation, and check where it keeps secrets, whether certificate pinning holds, and whether the backend enforces what the screens only hide. Results are mapped to OWASP MASVS. The inputs are the build, a backend test environment and test users.
API security testing
In a typical SaaS or fintech platform, the web front end, the mobile app and the partner integrations all lean on the same APIs, so a flaw there reaches every channel at once. We test REST, GraphQL and gRPC interfaces as a hostile client would: every endpoint called as every role, object-level and function-level authorization, JWT and OAuth handling, mass assignment and rate-limit abuse, measured against the OWASP API Security Top 10. Each finding ships with a curl or HAR replay your developers can run themselves. Send the OpenAPI or GraphQL schema and a test user for each role.
Network penetration testing
A Hyderabad company's head office, its delivery or manufacturing sites and its cloud workloads are often joined together, and each join is a boundary worth testing. An external test looks at what anyone on the internet can reach: exposed services, edge devices and VPN gateways. An internal or assumed-breach test starts from an ordinary employee's access and follows segmentation gaps, open file shares and movement from host to host, including cloud networks on AWS, Azure and GCP. We need IP ranges, a network diagram and signed rules of engagement.
Active Directory penetration testing
Established IT services and pharma organizations often run Windows domains that have grown for years through new offices, acquisitions and projects that came and went. We begin with one standard domain user account, map the directory with BloodHound and follow the routes an intruder would take toward domain admin: Kerberoasting, AS-REP roasting, ACL abuse, delegation, trusts and certificate services. Alongside the findings you receive a tier-zero hygiene checklist for the accounts and settings that control the domain.
Also available
Two further services are available: source code review, which pairs manual review with static analysis and ties every finding to a file and line, and cyber security training for teams, run as hands-on labs built around your own stack.
02 / Who buys
Who commissions VAPT in Hyderabad
Hyderabad's economy brings a wide mix of buyers for security testing. Much of the city's technology industry sits in the IT parks along the corridors around HITEC City, Madhapur, Gachibowli and the Financial District, while the Genome Valley cluster on the city's outskirts is home to life sciences research and pharma companies. These are the kinds of organization that commission tests from us, and the question each one usually arrives with.
Software and IT services firms in the IT parks
Companies that build and run systems for clients in India and abroad are often asked by those clients to show that their own networks, delivery environments and the code they ship have been tested. A security questionnaire or a contract clause is often what starts the conversation.
SaaS and product companies
From early-stage startups to established platforms, product companies sell to customers whose security reviews probe tenant isolation, single sign-on and admin consoles. A test before launch, or before a large deal closes, is a sensible first engagement.
Pharma and life sciences
In GxP-regulated work, data integrity and audit trails are part of the product. The exposure tends to sit in ERP systems opened to partners, sprawling vendor portals and the integrations that carry clinical and manufacturing data between sites.
Fintech
Lending, payments and wealth platforms handle money, account data and identity documents through apps and APIs. Banks and payment partners carry out their own due diligence, and an independent test report can be one of the documents they ask for.
Healthcare
Hospitals, diagnostic chains, telemedicine providers and healthcare services firms that process records and billing all hold patient data. It turns up in telemedicine apps, lab-result PDFs and third-party billing links, so the test follows that data from the patient's device to the back-office archive.
E-commerce
Online stores and marketplaces run payment flows, customer accounts, coupon and pricing logic and seller or admin panels. Business-logic abuse, such as stacking discounts or editing another customer's order, matters here as much as classic injection.
We also test for manufacturing companies, educational institutions and media and VFX studios. Whatever the sector, the work starts from the same question: what would the business lose, and who would want to take it? Sector by sector, the industries we secure page lists the systems that usually get tested.
03 / Engagements
How a Hyderabad engagement runs
BERRY9 is based in Hyderabad, and our testing team works from the office in Yellareddyguda. Being in the same city helps with the parts of an engagement that go better face to face, but most of the testing itself does not need anyone in your building. There are three ways in.
Show details for How a Hyderabad engagement runs
Over the internet
Web applications, mobile apps, APIs and external networks are tested remotely from our office, reaching them the same way an outside attacker would.
Into your network, remotely
Internal network and Active Directory tests start from an ordinary employee's level of access, which you provide as a VPN credential or a jump host inside your network.
On your premises
Where remote access is not possible, a testing laptop can be placed on your internal network on-site. For a location in Hyderabad, a visit can also be arranged for the kickoff, the readout or the testing itself. Whether a visit is needed is settled during scoping.
Whichever route the access takes, an engagement follows the same arc:
Step 1
Kickoff
A working session with our lead engineer to fix the assets in scope, the testing windows, the emergency contacts and the limits on what testing may touch. The work is designed to be safe for live systems, and anything treated as off limits is agreed in writing before testing begins.
Step 2
Testing
Reconnaissance, then manual and automated discovery, then confirmation of each finding with a proof of concept. Where separate weaknesses combine into a path, the whole chain is documented.
Step 3
Reporting
Two reports: an executive report in plain language for management and auditors, and an engineering report with reproduction steps and a fix for every finding, together with a remediation matrix.
Step 4
Readout
We walk your team through the findings so the people fixing them can ask about anything that is unclear. For a team in Hyderabad, the readout can be held in person by arrangement.
04 / Compliance
Compliance questions Hyderabad companies bring
For many Hyderabad companies, the request for a test comes from outside: an enterprise customer's questionnaire, an auditor's evidence list or a regulator's expectations. Work toward SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS or the DPDP Act will often raise the question of whether systems have been tested by someone independent, and a penetration test report is one way to answer it.

SOC 2
SaaS and IT services firms that sell to customers in the United States are often asked for a SOC 2 report. A test of the systems those customers rely on is one piece of the evidence behind it.
ISO 27001
The standard expects technical vulnerabilities to be found and managed, and tracking test findings through to closure feeds that process in your ISMS. BERRY9 itself holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certificate 26MEQVU27.
PCI DSS
Fintech and e-commerce businesses whose systems store, process or transmit card data, or can affect the systems that do, face the penetration testing requirements PCI DSS sets, with segmentation testing where segmentation is used to narrow the scope. Scope is agreed with you before testing starts.
DPDP Act
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act expects reasonable security safeguards for the personal data an organization handles. For pharma, healthcare and fintech companies that hold patient or customer records, a test shows whether those records are exposed and leaves a written record that the check was made.
BERRY9 tests; it does not certify or audit your organization, and the outcome of an audit is your auditor's call.

Starter scope
Starts fromINR 9,000 + 18% GST
The smallest engagement we offer, the starter scope, is priced from INR 9,000 + 18% GST for small scopes such as 3 to 5 external IP addresses or a simple WordPress website, including a vulnerability scan, manual checks, a written report and one free retest.
Read the VAPT cost guideEvery other test
Starts fromINR 27,000 + 18% GST
Every other test starts from INR 27,000 + 18% GST: a web application with logins and roles, a mobile app with its backend, an API, an internal network or an Active Directory domain.
Request a scoping callBoth figures are starting prices. Larger scopes cost more. The figure for your environment is written into a proposal after a scoping conversation, once it is clear what is being tested.
The figure follows the amount of testing work, and four things set that:
Roles
Every additional set of permissions is another set of boundaries to test.
Endpoints
More pages, functions and API calls mean more inputs to work through.
Hosts
On a network test, each server, device or IP address in scope adds to the effort.
Environments
Testing staging and production, or several tenant configurations, adds time.
The VAPT cost guide for India explains how scope turns into a price for each kind of test. For every kind of test we offer, from web apps to red teaming, see offensive security services.
06 / Turnaround and retest
Turnaround and retest
An engagement takes 5 to 10 working days for typical scopes, counted from kickoff. Bigger estates, such as several applications tested together, a directory with many domains or a network spread over several sites, take longer, and the proposal sets out the schedule.
Show details for Turnaround and retest
Kickoff moves quickly when the inputs are ready:
Web application
URLs and test accounts.
Mobile app
The signed build and a test backend.
API
The schema and a test user per role.
Network or Active Directory
IP ranges, a network diagram and signed rules of engagement.
The starting price for small scopes includes one free retest. For larger scopes, the retest terms are written into the proposal before work starts.

08 / Other cities
Other cities we serve
Outside Hyderabad we test remotely from our Hyderabad office; we have no office in any of the cities listed here. Internet-facing systems need nothing beyond an agreed scope, internal tests run over a VPN or a jump host, and a laptop can be placed on-site by arrangement where remote access is not an option.
09 / Inquiry
Send your scope and timeline
Tell us what you want tested, where it runs, whether your team sits in Hyderabad or elsewhere, and the date the report is needed by. A scope and timeline are then agreed in a short scoping conversation.

10 / FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about scope, price and how testing works. For anything else, call +91 86868 92922.
Does BERRY9 have an office in Hyderabad?
Yes, and it is our only one. We are in Yellareddyguda, Hyderabad 500073, Telangana. Call +91 86868 92922 or email contact@berry9.com.
Do you test remotely for Hyderabad teams?
Yes, and most tests run that way. Web applications, mobile apps, APIs and external networks are tested over the internet from our Hyderabad office. Internal network and Active Directory tests need a foothold inside your network, which you provide as a VPN credential or a jump host at the level of a regular employee.
Can your engineers work on-site at our Hyderabad office?
Yes, a visit can be arranged. Where remote access to an internal network is not possible, a testing laptop can be placed on your network on-site, and the kickoff or the readout can also be held at your Hyderabad location. Whether a visit is needed, and how it works, is agreed during scoping.
Which industries in Hyderabad do you test for?
Software and IT services firms, SaaS and product companies, pharma and life sciences, fintech, healthcare and e-commerce, as well as manufacturing, education and media and VFX studios. The method is the same in each; the threat model and the systems that matter most change from one sector to the next.
How much does VAPT cost for a Hyderabad company?
Small scopes, such as 3 to 5 external IP addresses or a simple WordPress website, start from INR 9,000 + 18% GST. Web, mobile, API, network and Active Directory tests start from INR 27,000 + 18% GST. Your final figure depends on what is tested and is fixed in a written proposal. See the section on Price of VAPT in Hyderabad above.
How long does a penetration test take for a Hyderabad team?
For typical scopes, 5 to 10 working days, counted from kickoff. Bigger estates, such as several applications at once, a directory with many domains or a network spread over several sites, take longer, and the proposal sets out the schedule. See the section on Turnaround and retest above.
Will a penetration test make our Hyderabad company SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliant?
Not by itself. The report shows your systems were tested independently, which auditors and customers can weigh in SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS or DPDP Act work. BERRY9 does not certify or audit your organization; that decision belongs to your auditor.
Do you also serve companies outside Hyderabad?
Yes. Our only office is in Hyderabad, and clients in Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and elsewhere in India are tested remotely from there: over the internet, or through a VPN or a jump host for internal tests.
