VAPT services in South India
BERRY9 runs VAPT for companies across South India from its one office in Hyderabad, reaching clients in Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada remotely and sending a tester to the site by arrangement when the work needs one. Each city page says which sectors and rules drive testing there.

A single office, in Yellareddyguda, Hyderabad, and none elsewhere in the south.
Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada are served over the internet and through remote access you control.
A tester travels to your site by arrangement, when wireless, plant or hardware work cannot be done at a distance.
01 / Delivery model
One Hyderabad office serving six southern cities
Every BERRY9 engagement is run from Hyderabad, where our only office is. For a client elsewhere in the south, the question is not whether the systems can be reached but by which route, and the answer follows from the kind of test.
| Kind of test | How the testers reach it | Does anyone travel? |
|---|---|---|
| Web application | Across the internet, against the URLs and the per-role test accounts named in the scope. | No. |
| API | The same way, driven from the OpenAPI or GraphQL schema and a token for every role you want checked. | No. |
| Mobile app | The signed build is installed on physical Android and iOS handsets at our office, while its backend is reached online. | No. |
| External network | From outside, against the public address ranges your team lists in writing. | No. |
| Internal network or Active Directory | Through a jump host or VPN credentials set up for the engagement at ordinary staff level, which your team disables once the work is over. | Only when neither route can be opened. |
| Cloud accounts | Through access to the AWS, Azure or Google Cloud accounts in scope, granted for the testing window. | No. |
| Wireless | Within radio range of the access points, which means at the premises. | Yes, every time. |
| IoT devices and firmware | The firmware and the cloud service a device reports to can be examined from afar; hardware that has to stay installed is looked at where it stands. | Depends on whether the hardware can leave. |
If you want a non-disclosure agreement in place before diagrams, credentials or code change hands, BERRY9 signs one on request.
Scoping, questions during the work and the readout of findings happen by phone and video call, so for most engagements the distance from Hyderabad changes the travel budget and not the testing. Work on a typical scope fills 5 to 10 working days between kickoff and the delivered report, the same span a client a short drive from our office would see; an estate spread over several towns takes longer, and its schedule is written into the proposal.
02 / What buyers share
What buyers across the south have in common
Whatever the city, a handful of pressures lead southern companies to commission a test, and a handful of things decide whether the report earns its cost.
Someone else asked first
The usual trigger is an outside request: a questionnaire from a client abroad, an enterprise buyer's vendor review or a contract clause asking for a recent independent test. The report therefore has to satisfy that outside reader as well as your engineers.
One privacy law for five states
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act applies alike in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. A business holding customer or employee records in any of them owes the same duty of reasonable security safeguards.
A figure in mind before the first call
Smaller firms in particular arrive with a budget already set and compare published prices before anything else. That is why our starting figures sit on this page instead of behind a form.
Logins that outsiders already hold
Customer portals, dealer and agent logins, mobile apps and the APIs underneath them are where people outside the company already have an account, so they tend to be tested before the office network.
Sites in more than one town
Head offices, plants, warehouses and cloud accounts often sit in different places, joined by VPN tunnels and leased lines. The joins between sites deserve as close a look as any single location.
Two audiences for one report
Management, auditors and customers want a short plain account; developers want reproduction steps and a fix for each item. Each engagement therefore ends with an executive report, an engineering report and a remediation matrix.
03 / Where they differ
Where the southern cities differ
The differences come from what each local economy runs, and so from what gets tested first. One line per city follows; each city page goes into the detail.
Show details for Where the southern cities differ
Hyderabad
Software exporters, pharma and life sciences firms and fintech products mostly need application and API testing, often as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 evidence.
Bangalore
Product and SaaS businesses selling to overseas and enterprise buyers usually start with tenant separation, single sign-on and the evidence a SOC 2 auditor will want to see.
Chennai
Car and component makers, electronics plants, banks and IT exporters bring plant networks, installed ERP clients and payment systems into scope, and the price tends to be the first thing asked.
Kochi
Hospitals, hotels and travel booking firms, freight and shipping businesses and lenders with roots in Kerala put booking apps, patient data and card payments on the list.
Coimbatore
Textile mills, pump and motor makers and engineering exporters connect their business systems to the shop floor and answer security questionnaires sent by customers abroad.
Visakhapatnam
Terminal and freight operators, heavy industry, pharma units and hosting suppliers make outside-facing booking portals and the boundary between business IT and the plant the main concern.
Vijayawada
A trading and education center close to the state's capital region, where colleges and coaching institutes, hospitals and diagnostic chains, agri-traders and software firms building for state departments should first check whether a rule decides which kind of tester they may hire.
04 / Regional drivers
What drives security testing in the southern states
Some forces act on the region as a whole, whatever the city. They are described here as background, in general terms.
Show details for What drives security testing in the southern states
Software and services sold abroad
A large share of India's software and IT services work is done from the southern metros, and clients overseas write security terms into those contracts. A dated test report is one of the commonest ways to meet such terms.
Capability centers of global firms
Multinationals run engineering and operations centers across the region, and the local suppliers serving them are often put through the parent's vendor security review.
Factory supply chains
Vehicle, electronics, engineering and textile chains increasingly link plant data to ERP systems and customer portals, which widens the routes an intruder could take.
Ports on both coasts
The eastern and western seaboards carry a busy shipping, freight and warehousing trade, whose systems swap bookings and manifests with shipping lines, agents and hauliers all day.
Hospitals and diagnostics
Hospital chains and diagnostic networks keep patient records in portals, apps and billing links that patients and insurers reach from outside the building.
Lenders and payment firms
Banks, non-bank lenders, gold-loan and microfinance companies and payment startups are spread across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and the Telugu states, and the RBI's direction on IT governance asks the banks and larger non-bank lenders it covers for periodic vulnerability assessment and penetration testing.
These lines sketch the regional economy in general terms. They name no organization, and none of the sectors listed is offered as a client list.
05 / Local or remote
Choosing between a firm in your city and one in Hyderabad
A tester down the road is neither better nor worse by default than one in another state. The kind of work decides it, and a few direct questions settle the rest.
Show details for Choosing between a firm in your city and one in Hyderabad
| The work | A firm in your city | BERRY9, from Hyderabad |
|---|---|---|
| Applications, APIs and mobile apps | No practical edge: the testing happens online either way. | Identical work, with scoping and the readout over video. |
| Internal network or Active Directory | Can plug into the network without a journey. | Runs through the VPN login or jump host you provide; a trip is planned only if neither is possible. |
| Wireless, plant floors and fixed hardware | Repeat visits are easier to fit in at short notice. | Needs planned trips, which the proposal shows as a separate line. |
| Frequent meetings in person | Simple to arrange. | Grouped around the kickoff and the readout, or held online. |
| A tender, regulator or customer clause that names the tester | Location rarely settles it; read the clause. | Same: the deciding point is who may test, not where the firm sits. |
Whichever firm you are weighing, local or not, these questions are worth putting to it:
- Who does the testing, and how much of it is done by hand rather than by a scanner?
- Can we read the testing method and a sample report before signing anything?
- What does the starting figure cover, and is a retest part of it?
- Where will our credentials and findings be kept, and who will see them?
- On which days, if any, must someone be at our premises, and how is that time charged?
For BERRY9, the need for a visit is settled at scoping and the proposal records it. A day in another southern city carries travel and stay at cost, and that sum is in the proposal before testing begins.
06 / Price
VAPT pricing for South Indian companies
Two starting prices are published, with 18% GST charged on each. They do not change from one city to the next; what can add to a proposal is time spent at your premises.
Starter scope
Starts fromINR 9,000 + 18% GST
The starter scope is priced from INR 9,000 + 18% GST for small scopes such as 3 to 5 external IP addresses or a simple WordPress website, including a vulnerability scan, manual checks, a written report and one free retest.
Read the VAPT cost guideEvery other test
Starts fromINR 27,000 + 18% GST
Every other test starts from INR 27,000 + 18% GST: applications, APIs, internal networks, domains, cloud accounts, wireless and device work alike.
Ask for a written proposalA clinic's brochure website or a handful of addresses facing the internet belongs in the starter scope. A SaaS platform with several roles, an ERP that dealers sign in to or a Windows domain covering offices in two states calls for a standard engagement, which starts higher. Neither number changes with the city; the proposal written after scoping states the figure for your systems.
For a company with sites across the south, four things usually move the figure:
Sites
Separate networks in different towns are tested as separate pieces of the estate.
Outside users
Dealers, agents, patients or tenants each add a set of permissions to check.
Environments
Staging next to production, or more than one tenant setup, adds testing time.
Days on site
Wireless or plant work at your premises appears as a separate item.
For the reasoning behind each figure, read the VAPT cost guide for India, which walks through every kind of test.
The starting price for small scopes includes one free retest. For larger scopes, the retest terms are written into the proposal before work starts.

Which South Indian cities does BERRY9 cover?
Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada are covered remotely from Hyderabad, with visits by arrangement, and Hyderabad itself is where we are based. Companies in other southern towns are served the same way. See the section on Where the southern cities differ above.
Does BERRY9 have an office anywhere in South India besides Hyderabad?
No. The office in Yellareddyguda, Hyderabad is the only one; BERRY9 has no other office or branch anywhere in the south. Calls go to +91 86868 92922; email goes to contact@berry9.com. See the section on One Hyderabad office serving six southern cities above.
Can one engagement cover offices in several southern cities?
Yes. Systems reached over the internet form one scope wherever they are hosted. For internal networks in different towns, each site needs its own remote route, such as a jump host or VPN credentials, or else a visit, and the proposal lists every site with the way it will be reached. See the section on One Hyderabad office serving six southern cities above.
Is a penetration testing firm in our own city the safer choice?
Not by default. Applications, APIs, mobile apps and external networks are tested online, so the firm's address makes no practical difference there. A nearby firm helps when work keeps needing someone on site, for example repeated wireless surveys or plant networks with no remote path. Judge any firm on how it tests and what its report looks like. See the section on Choosing between a firm in your city and one in Hyderabad above.
What does VAPT cost for a company in South India?
A small scope, like a simple WordPress website or a few internet-facing IP addresses, sits in the starter band, from INR 9,000 + 18% GST. Larger tests are billed from INR 27,000 + 18% GST. The starting prices are the same whichever southern city you are in. Any days at your premises are written into the proposal as a separate line. See the section on VAPT pricing for South Indian companies above.
We have sites in two southern states: one proposal or two?
That depends on how the work is scoped. A written proposal is drawn up for each engagement, and if the sites in both states are scoped together, one proposal can cover all of them, listing each site and how it will be reached. See the section on One Hyderabad office serving six southern cities above.
Will you sign an NDA before we share network diagrams?
Yes. BERRY9 signs a non-disclosure agreement on request, so diagrams, credentials and code can be shared under it before any testing starts. See the section on One Hyderabad office serving six southern cities above.
Can someone come to our site in Chennai or Kochi?
Yes, by arrangement. A visit is planned when the work cannot be done remotely, such as a wireless survey, a plant network with no remote path or hardware that cannot leave the premises. Whether it happens, and on which days, is decided during scoping and recorded in the proposal. See the section on Choosing between a firm in your city and one in Hyderabad above.
