Network penetration testing in Bangalore

Bengaluru companies run hybrid networks: a few offices, a cloud account, a VPN for people who work from anywhere and a customer's network they must connect to. BERRY9 tests those networks remotely from Hyderabad, our only office, through a VPN account or a device you place on the network.

01 / Local need

Why Bangalore companies test their networks

The customer's network is often the one setting the rules.

A supplier to a global capability center in Bengaluru is expected to show that its own network will not become a way into the customer's. A product startup that grew from five people to two hundred has a network that nobody designed, with flat access between laptops and servers. A company with engineers on a VPN from many cities wants to know what a stolen laptop could reach. These are inside questions, and they are answered by a test that starts where an employee, or an intruder with an employee's access, would start.

We reach the inside through a VPN login for a regular staff member, a jump host, or a small device you plug in that dials out to us; our article on remote testing compares the routes. The network penetration testing page covers the service itself, and VAPT services in Bangalore covers the city.

02 / Scope

What a Bangalore network test looks at first

A hybrid, fast-growing estate points to six starting places.

  • The flat network that grew

Many startups never segmented. We test what an ordinary laptop can reach: file shares, build servers, databases and management interfaces.

  • VPN for a distributed workforce

Engineers connect from many cities. We test the VPN's authentication, the rights each account receives on arrival and what a single stolen account could reach.

  • Customer-connected links

Tunnels and jump hosts to a customer's network. We test what your side exposes to the link and whether the customer's traffic can reach more than it should.

  • Office and guest Wi-Fi

Office wireless is a bridge between the street and the network. We test the encryption, how well guests are walled off and what a visitor's phone can see.

  • Cloud-to-office connections

Site-to-site links and peering between offices and cloud accounts. We test what traffic is allowed and whether a cloud workload can reach the office.

  • Logging and detection

A test is also a check on your monitoring. We record what we did, and ask which of it your tools noticed.

03 / From our guide

From our guide: internal testing and the tools

Internal testing is the half most Bengaluru teams ask about, and the tools question comes up in every proposal review. This is how our guide answers both.

Internal network testing

An internal test starts from inside: a laptop on the network, a VPN account of an ordinary employee, or a jump host. It answers the question that follows every breach: how far can they get? Testers look for:

  • Name-resolution poisoning and relay attacks that capture credentials from ordinary network traffic.
  • Weak or reused passwords on accounts, shares and services.
  • File shares with passwords, scripts and backups that anyone can read.
  • Missing network segmentation, so a printer VLAN can reach the domain controller.
  • Unpatched servers and legacy protocols that still run.
  • Active Directory attack paths from a normal user to a domain administrator, covered in our 2026 Active Directory article.

Internal tests usually produce more serious findings than external ones, because internal networks were built on trust. They are also where the story of a real attack is easiest to show to management: a chain from one ordinary workstation to the financial system.

The tools, and why tools are not the test

Testers use a mix of well-known tools: Nmap and a vulnerability scanner for discovery, NetExec and Impacket for working with Windows protocols, Responder for name-resolution attacks, BloodHound to map Active Directory paths, and Metasploit or custom scripts for proof of exploitation. Many tools now include AI-assisted features that suggest next steps or summarize output. They speed up routine work. They do not decide what matters in your environment, and a report made only from tool output lists issues without showing which ones lead to damage. That judgment is what manual testing adds.

For remote delivery, the VPN account or the device that connects out to us is the whole of the access we need. The comparison of external and internal testing, and how to choose, is in the whole guide.

04 / What we find

Weak points that recur in Bengaluru networks

Fast-growing estates share a few recurring weaknesses.

Show details for Weak points that recur in Bengaluru networks
  • Everything reachable from everywhere. A developer laptop that can open the production database port directly, with no segment between them.
  • VPN accounts with office-wide reach. A remote login that lands the user on the same network as the servers and the finance share.
  • Credentials in shares and wikis. Passwords and keys in scripts, spreadsheets and pages that any employee can read.
  • Management interfaces open internally. Hypervisor, switch and storage consoles reachable with default or reused passwords.
  • Name-resolution weaknesses. Legacy broadcast protocols that let an internal attacker capture credentials without touching a server.
  • A guest or contractor network that is not isolated. A visitor's device that can see office printers, file servers and cameras.

The report draws the route from the entry point to the target as a chain, so one fix, such as separating the build servers, can be seen to close several chains at once.

Fixing these is mostly a matter of rules, not products: separate the build servers, shorten what a VPN account reaches, remove credentials from shared pages and turn on isolation for guests. Most Bengaluru teams can make those changes in weeks, and a retest then shows the chains broken.

05 / Rules and customers

What Bangalore security reviewers ask about networks

Questions arrive from customers' security teams more often than from regulators.

Show details for What Bangalore security reviewers ask about networks

Customer security reviews ask how networks are segmented, how remote access is controlled and when it was last tested. Auditors preparing SOC 2 or ISO 27001 reports want to see a routine and closed findings. Our guide on how often to test offers a simple schedule.

The identity side of the network deserves its own look: most intrusions described in this year's reports move through accounts and tokens, and our article on 2026 threats lists what to test first. See also Active Directory testing in Bangalore.

06 / How it runs

How a network test fits a Bangalore hybrid estate

One call sets up the access, and testing then proceeds without anyone visiting.

  1. Before day 1

    Scope and access plan

We list the external addresses and internal ranges to be tested, and choose the entry: a VPN account for an employee, a jump host or a small plug-in device.

  2. Day 1

    Access switched on

You allow our fixed addresses, create the account or ship the device, and confirm testing hours. We check that we can reach the first range.

  3. Days 2 to 7

    Outside in, then inside

We test the internet edge, then work from the internal position, and phone you the same day about anything serious.

07 / Questions to ask

Questions worth asking a network tester

A distributed company has questions that an office-only company does not.

Show details for Questions worth asking a network tester
  • Which route in will you use for the internal test, and what does it need from us?
  • Will you test what a single stolen VPN account can reach?
  • How will you treat links to customers' networks, and what will you not touch?
  • Will you tell us which of your actions our monitoring noticed?
  • Will the report draw the routes as chains, so one fix can close several?

08 / Delivery

Delivery of network tests for Bangalore companies

Where the work happens

Testing is run from our office in Yellareddyguda, Hyderabad, which is our only office. Outside Hyderabad nothing about these tests needs us in your building; if a customer or a site rule asks for someone present, we come by arrangement and write the travel cost into the proposal.

What you receive

One report is written for management, customers and auditors, and a second, more technical one for the engineers who make the fixes. A walkthrough call covers both, and after your fixes we retest and mark each finding closed or open. Every inquiry gets a reply: we respond within 24 hours.

How to prepare

Test accounts, a staging address, our testing addresses allowed through your firewall and a named contact are what we ask for. The preparation article explains each item, and the one-page checklist (PDF) is a printable version.

09 / Price

What a network test costs in Bangalore

Three to five public addresses fit a small scope, which comes from INR 9,000 + 18% GST for small scopes such as 3 to 5 external IP addresses or a simple WordPress website, including a vulnerability scan, manual checks, a written report and one free retest. An internal test, or an estate with several offices and cloud links, belongs to the larger band and begins from INR 27,000 + 18% GST. See the cost guide.

The starting price for small scopes includes one free retest. For larger scopes, the retest terms are written into the proposal before work starts.

10 / FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about scope, price and how testing works. For anything else, call +91 86868 92922.

Can an internal network test be done remotely for a Bangalore office?

Yes. We come in through a VPN login for a regular employee, a jump host, or a small device that you connect and that calls out to us. See the section on How a network test fits a Bangalore hybrid estate above.

Do you have an office or engineers in Bangalore?

No. Our only office and our engineers are in Hyderabad. See the section on Delivery of network tests for Bangalore companies above.

Do you test the link to a customer's network?

We test your side of it: what the tunnel or jump host exposes, and whether the customer's traffic can reach more than intended. Their own systems stay untouched unless they give written permission. See the section on What a Bangalore network test looks at first above.

Will you tell us what our monitoring missed?

Yes, if you ask. We keep a record of what we did and when, and the report can include which activity your tools noticed and which they did not. See the section on What a Bangalore network test looks at first above.

Which tools do you use?

The standard public ones for discovery and Windows protocols, plus scripts of our own, and our engineers decide what matters in your environment. Tool output alone is never the report. See the section on From our guide: internal testing and the tools above.

What does it cost?

A small external scope comes from INR 9,000 + 18% GST for small scopes such as 3 to 5 external IP addresses or a simple WordPress website, including a vulnerability scan, manual checks, a written report and one free retest; internal tests on a bigger estate begin from INR 27,000 + 18% GST. See the section on What a network test costs in Bangalore above.
