01 / BERRY9 price
What BERRY9 charges for a mobile app test
A mobile app and its back end carry our standard starting price; the starter scope does not cover them.
Starter scope
Starts fromINR 9,000 + 18% GST
The starter scope is priced from INR 9,000 + 18% GST for small scopes such as 3 to 5 external IP addresses or a simple WordPress website, including a vulnerability scan, manual checks, a written report and one free retest.
It is meant for small, well-defined targets, so it does not cover the test on this page.
- A vulnerability scan
- Manual checks
- A written report
Mobile app with its back end
Starts fromINR 27,000 + 18% GST
Every other test starts from INR 27,000 + 18% GST.
A starting price: your app's figure is fixed in a written proposal once the platforms, screens, roles and API are known.
- Android and iOS on the same engagement by default
- Executive and engineering reports
- A CVSS 3.1 score on every finding
The free retest in the first card is part of the starter scope. For an app test, the proposal says what retest is included.
02 / Price drivers
What moves the price of a mobile app test
A mobile test covers the app on the phone and the API behind it. Four properties decide how much time that takes.
Platforms
Android, iOS or both. Each platform ships its own build that has to be taken apart and run on its own devices, so the proposal names the platforms it covers.
Screens and flows
More screens mean more inputs, more data stored on the phone and more calls to the back end to follow.
Back-end routes
Every route the app calls gets an authorization check, so a large API behind a small app still means a long test.
Roles
A customer, an agent and an administrator each need an account and a separate pass through the app.
Teams that ship often can ask for regression tests on each signed build, so a fix in one release is not undone by the next.
03 / Kinds of app
Four kinds of mobile app, priced
One starting price covers all four; what differs is the time each needs.
Show details for Four kinds of mobile app, priced
| App | What takes longer | Where it lands |
|---|---|---|
| One platform, few screens, one kind of user | A short list of flows and a small API | from INR 27,000 + 18% GST for a mobile test of this size |
| A consumer app on Android and iOS | Two builds, many screens, accounts, payments or notifications | from INR 27,000 + 18% GST, with both platforms named in the proposal |
| A wallet or fintech app | Several roles, sensitive data on the phone, a large API behind it | from INR 27,000 + 18% GST, though scope and report depth set the final figure |
| An internal staff app | Sign-in through the company directory, reach into internal systems | from INR 27,000 + 18% GST for a mobile test with staff roles |
04 / Market figures
What other vendors publish for a mobile app test
Show details for What other vendors publish for a mobile app test
Vendors publish these figures for mobile work, as read on 30 October 2026. Two Indian guides price a "scan of a website or mobile app" instead of a manual mobile test, so treat those two as scanning prices. All are marketing figures and not audited averages.
- Three vendors (Blaze InfoSec, Stingrai and Invicti) together point to US$5,000 to US$30,000 for mobile tests, in 2026.
- Invadel lists a mobile app on both platforms from US$6,000, with no date.
- Astra, whose guide was updated on 17 February 2026, shows 40,000 to 8,50,000 rupees for one scan of a website or app.
- BM Infotrade, modified 21 July 2026, shows 30,000 to 7,50,000 rupees for the same kind of scan.
None of the Indian guides we read gives a figure for a hand-tested mobile app alone. Converting dollar figures into Indian prices is unreliable, because rates, scopes and taxes differ.
Every figure we found, with its source, is in the VAPT cost guide for India.
05 / Reading a proposal
What a mobile proposal should state
Show details for What a mobile proposal should state
A mobile proposal can look cheap because it leaves things out. A good one puts these in writing, so its figure can sit beside another vendor's.
- Platforms and builds. Android, iOS or both, and the release of each that gets tested.
- Phone and server. Whether the work covers the app's local storage, its network traffic and the API it talks to, or only part of that.
- Roles and accounts. Which roles are tested and who supplies the accounts.
- Method. Hands-on testing on real devices, or an automated scan of the package. The first finds flaws in how the app behaves; the second matches known patterns.
- Deliverable. Steps to reproduce each finding, its fix, and a summary management can read.
- Retest. A retest looks at fixes in the next signed build, so ask whether it is included and how long the window lasts.
For the wider checklist, with questions about testers and data handling, read our guide to choosing a VAPT company.
06 / Outside the price
What the starting price does not cover
Show details for What the starting price does not cover
The starting price buys a test of the app and the API it uses. A few things sit outside it, and it is better to know them before the proposal arrives.
- Tax: GST is charged on top of every figure on this page.
- Other people's systems: a payment gateway, a messaging service or any provider's own servers are tested only if that provider agrees in writing.
- Source code: reading your code line by line is a separate service, and it can be run alongside an app test with one proposal and one report.
- Later releases: a first test looks at one build, and checking later builds is arranged in the proposal.
Anything you want added, such as a second platform or an extra role, changes the scope, and the proposal states the effect on the price.

What to send for an accurate price
Four details are enough for us to price a mobile test.
Show details for What to send for an accurate price
- Builds. The Android and iOS builds, or links to the store listings, and which release to test.
- Accounts. A login for each role in the app, filled with realistic data.
- Back end. The hosts the app talks to, and whether they are staging or production.
- Limits. Third-party services we must not touch, and the date you need the report.
If you are in the city, see our VAPT services in Hyderabad. The mobile application testing page lists what each test covers.

How much does mobile app penetration testing cost in India?
A mobile app and its back end start from INR 27,000 + 18% GST at BERRY9. Larger apps cost more, and the proposal that follows scoping fixes the figure for yours. See the section on What BERRY9 charges for a mobile app test above.
Does testing both Android and iOS double the price?
Not automatically. We test both platforms on one engagement by default and the proposal names them. Each platform is a separate build, so time grows with it, but the API behind them is tested once. See the section on What moves the price of a mobile app test above.
Is the API behind the app part of the price?
Yes. The starting price is for the app together with its back end, and the proposal lists the API hosts in scope.
Is a retest included?
The small starter scope carries the free retest. An app test sits outside it, so read the proposal for retest terms. A retest re-examines the fixes in your next signed release.
Can you test every release?
Teams that ship often can ask for a regression test on each signed build. The proposal sets the schedule.
How long does a mobile test take?
Plan on 5 to 10 working days from the start. Both platforms, many screens and a large API stretch the schedule, which the proposal spells out.
Why do Indian guides show such wide ranges for apps?
Some price a scan of a website or app, which is cheaper and shallower than hand testing, and each vendor defines its scope differently. Find out whether a figure is for a scan or a manual test before you set it against a proposal. See the section on What other vendors publish for a mobile app test above.
Do these prices include GST?
No. Add 18% GST to the amounts on this page.
